I bet you bought more slop games than you'd like to admit. This stupidity is boundless.

[–] MushuChupacabra@piefed.world 1 points 13 hours ago

Really?

How much did I just win from your bet?

Since I own zero games with slop in them, what we have here is you just you talking out of your ass.

The stupidity is boundless.

If it's made with GenAI it shouldn't be copyrighted if nothing else.

[–] MushuChupacabra@piefed.world 9 points 2 days ago

if it's made with GenAI, they can sell it to llms and bots.

I'm in the market for games by humans, for humans.

[–] stephen01king@piefed.zip 2 points 2 days ago

Exactly, especially if its been trained on copyrighted stuff.

Bad news then: almost all software engineers will be using various forms of genAI for their work, let that be LLMs for coding or image generation for quickly visualising things.

[–] apotheotic@beehaw.org 1 points 1 day ago

Yeah I guess some people with no moral backbone will do that

[–] Duke_Nukem_1990@feddit.org 0 points 1 day ago (2 children)

almost all software engineers

any source for that?

[–] TehPers@beehaw.org 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Am software engineer. Am required by work to use it lest they lose their ungodly investment into a tool that wastes as much time as it does money.

[–] Duke_Nukem_1990@feddit.org -1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Am software engineer as well. Have not been required by my old or new job to use this crap.

[–] TehPers@beehaw.org 0 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Sounds like a nice deal. Every job posting I've seen here comes from a company that wants you to use an LLM.

[–] Duke_Nukem_1990@feddit.org 1 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

In the US? I'd wager most software devs aren't from there.

[–] TehPers@beehaw.org 1 points 16 hours ago

As opposed to where? India? China?

Companies in the US aren't the only ones pushing AI.

[–] Sina@beehaw.org 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's a logical conclusion of the present situation. No one will pay for grass or asphalt textures, when genai can produce more variety than any human asset artist ever could. In coding it's a more complicated situation, but for certain tasks it's almost dumb not to use ai. Even of you don't use it to actually write code it's still helpful to a varying degree.

[–] Duke_Nukem_1990@feddit.org 3 points 1 day ago

Ok so no source, just a feeling. Hey, nothing wrong with that, just don't present it as a fact.

[–] MushuChupacabra@piefed.world 0 points 1 day ago

they're certainly welcome to do so.

I will not buy.
