Still an asshole in the end. Assholes disliking another asshole doesn't make them less of an asshole.
The fault in the left.
Yeah, our fault for not being buddies with the bullies bully.
We can't unite against a greater evil because we look to the right and they're always right of us.
We look to the right and see the pro-trans crowd as well but making them our enemy while the people further right of them ruin the world won't work out for either of us.
That's what people are talking about by the above. If you were better informed you would have already known that.
Like cool, we disagree with him but we can disagree with him on those things not on war crimes. If supporting him would stop the war crimes then we could support him until the war crimes stopped though that isn't relevant in this scenario.
I'm confused, are you saying pro trans is right leaning?
Yeah, the left doesn’t have gender differences (outside of biology) so people feeling like they’re a different gender means there’s too much societal power in the label. Take any person say they are xx or xy and then switch it. They’re still the same person.
However that wasn’t the point, it was about how not being left enough stops us from uniting against the people right of all of us.
That's not a common opinion among the left. Being pro human rights is definitely not a right leaning view. Sounds like trying to throw trans people under the bus and get buddy buddy with centrists, which is also not a left view.
Who said anything about being against human rights?
You said being pro trans is right leaning view?
Yeah, did you read why leftists think otherwise? Where do human rights come in?
Again, not relevant to the point.
You might be too easily confused.
What do you mean by look to the right then? The left does see the right as bad because of what they do and support. Standing with people on the right, Republicans and conservative Democrats is what keeps dragging us further right. It seems like it's always the victims responsibility to be the better person and not the aggressors to be better.
You're not even talking to the right person, now I know you're too easily confused.
Anyway that's funny but we don't actually differ in opinion in any way that matters politically. Look, being a good person is always going to mean accepting people who aren't as good as you.
It sucks, and you can still prefer people who are kinder and more well informed, but life isn't about only tolerating people with perfect opinions. And I say this as someone who excommunicated a best friend of twenty years for falling for 4chan propaganda. It's all about figuring out who can be reached and who is too far gone.
I do see I replied to you as you were the OP based on the comment. My bad. I'll tolerate others in work and public but I'm not going to go to the movies or keep my mouth shut on their wrongs. Hell my ex's parents voted for trump all 3 times and we have still helped each other out, we have a kid together so I still see them sometimes. I still have to go against them when they tried to indoctrinate her with shame filled Catholicism. I don't call them good people as they would judge queer people. If they ran for office I would rally against them.
Hell I did say, finally, when mtg came out against trump for the Epstein stuff but I wouldn't have anything to do with her since she still is a toxic bigiot.
I'm not trying to shut you up. I just think people are messy, and unless we think they're so ideologically locked-in that there's no point, let's at least smile at people when they have a good point, even if their overall situation isn't looking good. I've been pretty disappointed with John Cleese's politics, but he's not wrong in this moment and I'd like to think he's not totally cut off from feedback that isn't biased in the opposite direction. If you'll pardon the multiple negative.
I would love if being nice to them would make them see reason, hell that one guy gets kkk members to renounce their ways is a gift. I don't trust or give people the time of day when they spout conservative beliefs as they will use that to make their hateful views seem normal. I do wish more leftist politicians would run as people think we need to court the centrists but where a leftist run they do well without trying to coddle conservatives.
My head is in the same place with regard to leftism. I really wish more people had the smarts and resilience to talk down conservatives who are still reachable by sane discourses. It's hypocritical of me though, given how many people I see as essentially in a death cult. At this point the best I can do most days is be real, keep a playful tone, and stop talking when I don't have anything constructive to say.
Not supporting shithead right wingers?
