He's literally viewing this as "I want to own that land so I can profit off of it."
Viewing an inhabited territory as some potential capitalistic conquest/enterprise is psychopathic behavior, plain and simple.
Whenever a crime against humanity is being committed, Trump's first thought is "how can I get a piece of that action?"
