The inability of people to take this stuff seriously is baffling. It reminds me of how deer will freeze up and just stare at an oncoming car.
I think a terrifying thought is that this is people taking it seriously in their mind. They're so propogandised against effective action it doesn't even register as a possibility, thus voting becomes the most serious action one can take in between their parades and slogan shouting.
I think it’s that but also there’s a deeper unspoken layer where if they admit voting won’t work then it means that all the other subtructural shit they’ve been ignoring was important and that is a big pill to swallow
Now, how aware they are that this is going on is debatable
