Unlike with Greenland, U.S. officials say Trump isn’t trying to annex Canada. Instead, he aims to partner with Prime Minister Mark Carney to shore up the country’s defenses

Does anyone else think these threats against Greenland -- and earlier, Canada -- might be intended to spur increases in other nations' defense spending? If Trump pushes all of Western Europe and Canada buying billions of dollars of military gear (through threats or "partnerships") most of that funding is going to defense contractors in the USA.

I doubt Trump realizes or intends that, because his brain is basically pudding, but it's possible his handlers/donors in the military complex are pushing for it.
