Oh. Apparently it’s like… a tube where you sit in a ball and it shoots you through the ground using vacuums and magnets? I mean it sounds cool I guess, but there are none that have been built yet. I used to work for CMAW (who was the union that was gonna be building the green line train system) and their time frame was 4 years for the train to be built and operational. This shit sounds like I might get to use it if I’m 80, if the Albertan government ever gets off its ass enough to build it.
A vacuum tube which means it must be a near-perfect seal for the entire length of it (hundreds of kilometers of a perfect seal while undergoing heat expansion) and if even a tiny puncture happens to the sealed passenger container they get turned into mashed potato

Wtf is a hyperloop even? Is that not just a tunnel road? Like we already have a direct road from calgary to edmonton, its called the QE fucking 2. Unless I’m wrong somehow? But like how is it supposed to be faster than the road that just goes directly from A to B?!
It was some bullshit elon made up to stall high speed rail. The concept was to shoot people through low pressure tubes in cramped passenger compartments. that idea is too hard, so It turned into the stupid vegas tesla loop track in practice.
Yeah I remember him admitting or whatever that it was a pipe dream to stall transit from being built, for personal gain.
Which should have meant he was sent to a labour camp and all of his assets nationalized for the rest of his life. In a sane world thats what would have happened.

yeah, he just repackaged the idea with a few tweaks, and lied about how cheap it would be.
