Like Necromunda is just Judge Dredd mixed with Mad Max. Alan "Fuck the police I'm an actual wizard" Moore wrote for Judge Dredd and it's reflected in Necromunda. But subtlety is for cowards, I guess.
Warhammer 40K itself is Judge Dredd x Dune x Aliens in a legally distinct parody setting riffing on The Lord of the Rings. IMO Necromunda specifically is more The Warriors but in WH40K.
Like Judge Dredd is weirdly core to Warhammer 40K's identity (it was created by artists in the same general scene as the creators of Judge Dredd). The specific form of psykers, hive cities, and mutants were lifted from there, as were the slightly more niche Adeptus Arbites who are literally just Judges.
GW just blatantly steals everything they want, which made the funniest moment ever when Blizzard blatantly stole from them and then made more money on it then the entire plastic crack could bring GW for like a century lol.
WarCraft Orcs & Humans would have been a goldmine for GW if they had let Blizzard do the Orcs vs. Brettonians game they wanted. Amazing how badly they punted that.
GW is notorious and infamous with how they fuck up the potentially goldmine games, all the actually good ones seems to be more of a fluke.
