The West has been obsessed with toppling the Iranian government since 1979. All their claims about concern for human rights are exposed as lies by their support for the genocide and ethnic cleansing in Palestine. It is hegemony and they can't accept a government that is not subservient to their ambitions in the region.
And a regime that gives gay people the death sentence and murders protestors ist any better? Iran needs a government that doesn't suck up to the US but also treats it's citizens well. It isn't black and white where you either defend the current regime or support a US controlled one. You can have neither.
Because US/Western regime changes always, always result in society in that country progressing, right? Never gets worse for anyone especially not minority groups, that would be un-American.
Israel/US would just like to destroy Iran rather than improve it. It's not a recipe for accepting input from them.
Indeed, and that's not something you can force upon them from the outaide. At some point a country's people are (at least to a degree) responsible for how their coubtry is ran and by whom.
Outside onfluence almost never works and always exploits the country in some way.
