Yeah, it's interesting how many people on both sides of moderator drama aren't here any more. Probably for the best really, moderator drama has really slowed down since they left.
That petty shit should be kept off the site, it's embarrassing
It was also just so incredibly pointless
Dramas are so lib-brained. Anyone who creates and engages with dramas should be lobotomized under Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism™.

Wrt liberal individual arguments vs collective collaboration
Seems like there was really only one side to the drama considering how it died down after that side disappeared, and how it had kept going until then despite a bunch of purges
Too bad that one side had a (former) admin on their side. But eventually that admin got exposed for being a liberal Zionist over a silly emote and nobody respected what that admin said anymore. That admin's final act on this website was arguing with users about /c/slop because "/c/slop was too toxic."
It's really telling how much drama was created by a core group of an admin and her orbiters. I'm also pretty sure frauddogg was one of the people who made that "debatbrox" thing.
Christ the revisionism people are attempting in this thread is kinda annoying me, acting as if there were two equal sides to it.
Now that the dust has settled, the honest truth is that almost every single site vs admin struggle session can be traced back to whatever bullshit idea Lyudmila had that nobody else thought was a good idea or some bullshit Lyudmila started that other admins like Carcosa had to clean up. And I am still convinced that infamous fake self-crit was her using another account. The timeline matches. ZoomeristLeninist stopped posting at the precise moment Lyudmila started posting. ZoomeristLeninist, like Lyudmila, had some bizarre fixation over /c/the_dunk_tank in the same exact way Lyudmila had with /c/slop. ZoomeristLeninist, like Lyudmila, was also hilariously out of touch with the website. "/c/the_dunk_tank was bad because only cishet white dudes dunk on other people. We'll have /c/gossip even though multiple fem users think the word "gossip" is misogynistic."
I remember that "self crit" thing. I got threatened with a ban for "relitigating old drama" when I linked to it in one of the mega threads about the_dunk_tank thing.
I don't know if they're the same though. Seems like there was a group of users mad about the dunk tank. And it's not like that was the first or only thing. Going way back the closing of main was due to a similar tantrum. I remember Lyudmila and some other mod writing about closing down the news mega too. I know carcosa had a mega where that was a question at one point too.
I looked thru some old threads a while ago and got so sad looking at the sea of banned posters. So many good users that were just kicked to the dust and pushed away. The site culture feels so thin now. There were so many engaged users who either got banned or left over that or another debacle. And for what?
I miss foucaults and all the others. Looking at old effort posts I've saved and seeing the user hasnt been active for two years gets to me.
That's not two mention all the people that got bullied out the same way, nor all the people who left during TC69s first try.
Apparently shes involved in org work in real life, which I find impossible to believe unless she's a fed who's aware of what she does. Or maybe she got all her issues out here. Or maybe she's the type of person who goes mad with what little power they have.
And then her crashing out a few days after ~~carcosa~~ nakoichi got kicked and the Israeli flag got out in was just the cherry on top. What a piece of shit.
And for some reason the revisionism goes on, it's "everyone was silly" and all that. I don't know what it is.
Carcosa got kicked from the mod/admin team?
i've had similar thoughts about hexbear for a while now too, i've been burnt out on it and for a while it just made me sad. i know both last year and this year people made comments on the site generally being less active as well.
Sorry not carcosa, nakoichi. Carcosa stepped down for a little while and I am absolutely certain Lyudmila loved the idea of them not being around
carcosa getting kicked out would be absolutely wild but unfortunately wouldn't be unprecedented.
while i'm glad that the worst of it is over and the situation with at least one of the mistreated users was resolved, i do not like how it was pretty much just swept under the rug considering how bad it got and how much damage was done. i believe some people claimed a user had to go the ER due to distress related to all of the 2024 nonsense and i think that also had to do with frauddog to a degree, if you weren't already aware.
i remember saying to someone that it also seemed it like it all practically stopped overnight too.
