Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Donald Trump warned Republican members of Congress on Tuesday that if they don't win in this year's midterms, then he will "get impeached."

"You got to win the midterms because if we don't win the midterms, it's just going to be -- I mean, they'll find a reason to impeach me. I'll get impeached," the president said.

Trump was impeached two times during his first term. In 2019, he was impeached on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress for allegedly pressuring Ukraine's president to interfere in the 2020 election. The second impeachment came during his final days in office after the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, with lawmakers charging him with incitement of insurrection. Trump was acquitted in the Senate both times.

He won't get impeached. It's been well past time we start using that second amendment so many love to go on and on about, but never actually take advantage of.

He should have been imprisoned after January 6th. He should have been imprisoned for stealing documents. He should have been imprisoned for being in the Epstein files. Yet here we are, America baby!

[–] monkeyslikebananas2@lemmy.world 24 points 6 days ago (1 children)

He should have been in prison decades earlier for fraud. But here we are. Trump is a metastasized tumor of the cancer that is the billionaire class.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago (1 children)

i know someone who is in prison for life for less fraud than krasnov has committed. the injustice infuriates me (not that my acquaintance is in prison, long story, that krasnov is not)

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Legal consequences are for the poor.

if my acquaintance pays back the money he defrauded from people and lenders and the government he wouldn't be poor though

This guy is wearing so much plot armor fr.

At worse he will be impeached but there will be no effort to remove, meaning absolutely nothing

It’s been well past time we start using that second amendment

I believe there are at least three confirmed attempts on his life to date.

I'm working with my therapist on getting over my extreme fear of guns. Then I'll start hitting the range.

[–] bstix@feddit.dk 7 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Turns out, you don't actually need a good guy with a gun.

You need a guy who is good with guns.

[–] RaskolnikovsAxe@lemmy.ca 3 points 6 days ago

Yeah all of this could have been avoided if one numpty had properly set his windage.

Maybe take a hint from the Ukrainians and fly a tethered drone in next time.

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The rest of the world is waiting.

[–] FinalRemix@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago (2 children)

The rest of the world needs to swoop in and save us at this point. The new nazi party and several pro-fascism democrats are making sure this shit continues unabated.

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca -3 points 6 days ago

No, American citizens sitting on their asses are allowing this to continue unabated. We’ve been telling you for about 3 decades what path you were on and were met with belligerent shitty USA USA USA chants and flag waving.
