Welcome to c/news! We aim to foster a book-club type environment for discussion and critical analysis of the news. Our policy objectives are:

We ask community members to appreciate the uncertainty inherent in critical analysis of current events, the need to constantly learn, and take part in the community with humility. None of us are the One True Leftist, not even you, the reader.

Newcomm and Newsmega Rules:

The Hexbear Code of Conduct and Terms of Service apply here.

  1. Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.

  2. Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.

  3. Fake news: No fake news posts ever, including April 1st. Deliberate fake news posting is a bannable offense. If you mistakenly post fake news the mod team may ask you to delete/modify the post or we may delete it ourselves.

  4. Link sources: All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source.

  5. Archive sites: We highly encourage use of non-paywalled archive sites (i.e. archive.is, web.archive.org, ghostarchive.org) so that links are widely accessible to the community and so that reactionary sources don’t derive data/ad revenue from Hexbear users. If you see a link without an archive link, please archive it yourself and add it to the thread, ask the OP to fix it, or report to mods. Including text of articles in threads is welcome.

  6. Low effort material: Avoid memes/jokes/shitposts in newscomm posts and top-level replies to the newsmega. This kind of content is OK in post replies and in newsmega sub-threads. We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.

  7. American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.

  8. Electoralism: Please try to avoid struggle sessions about the value of voting/taking part in the electoral system in the West. c/electoralism is right over there.

  9. AI Slop: Don't post AI generated content. Posts about AI race/chip wars/data centers are fine.

Snip:

Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen also responded on the same day through social media, issuing a blunt warning.

“That’s enough now,” he wrote, followed by a firmer rejection saying “No more pressure. No more insinuations. No more fantasies of annexation.”

Nielsen emphasized that Greenland remains open to engagement but set clear limits, saying “We are open to dialogue. We are open to discussions,” adding that any talks must take place “through the proper channels and with respect for international law.”

The dispute centers on Trump’s repeated claims that Greenland should become part of the US, a position he reiterated while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One and in a separate interview with The Atlantic.

Israel exists to bring on the rapture and the end of days for the religious wackos, and since that's what they expect, that's what will eventually happen.

The Middle East will take care of itself, and then the Axis will split the oil when the dust settles. Or fight over it, whatever. Eventually one will rise to the top to become King of the World, and maybe it's the Middle East that will kick it off.

It's all speculation, but at least my speculation is extrapolated from past behavior, and actual threats.

But it's not taking care of itself! Israel requires billions of dollars of aid to continue to exist and there are still US military bases all over the Middle East. Do you expect the US to pull those assets out and to wind down its Middle East expenditures? I don't.

It's not taking care of itself yet, but eventually it will. They need the Jews and Israel right now, for the votes, and to keep the Middle East off balance, but eventually the time will come to deal with that sphere of influence.

Right now the emphasis is on capturing America, and bringing it to heel, but they've always hated the Jews, and want them wiped out, so they'll get around to it one day. On the other side, they covet the Saudis' money and oil, and they don't have much of a military, so they'll get wiped out for their stuff, too.

It's just not the priority yet, but it will be, someday. These Sociopathic Oligarchs are thinking long-term. That's why they're all so focused on extending the human lifespan.

Then it doesn't sound like there's already been a deal. It sounds like the US would maybe like to make such a deal, but it's keeping its options open.

I wouldn't call it a deal, it's still too far out, but I would not be surprised at all if the three of them have had this conversation. In fact, I'd be surprised if they haven't.

And I also expect that Russia and China have talked about dumping Trump when his usefulness is over, and splitting the spoils.

Okay, but you said:

Russia and China are no longer “geopolitical rivals,” they are Shadow Allies in the New World Order that is configuring at this moment.

And that really implies that Russia and China are part of the conspiracy. I'd say there's no "dumping Trump" because they're not even working with him, he's just doing shit as it pops into his head and they're responding to it as it happens.

Russia and China ARE part of the conspiracy. You think they aren't talking about the massive changes happening in the world? It's not like this is some great revelation, it's really obvious to anyone paying attention.

And yeah, they've created a monster with Trump, but that's okay. The more chaos he sows in America, the weaker we get, and the stronger and more influential they get. Pissing off our European allies? It just gets better and better.

You think this Conspiracy is some written down plan, with actions steps to take, but that's not how it works, because these guys know that a plan like that falls apart at the first step. They just plan a general direction, and that's good enough for now. Right now, the goal is to end American Hegemony around the world, and maybe give him the Western Hemisphere to play with, and keep him occupied with his incompetent government. No need to interfere, or steer, he is fully capable of massively fucking up this country all on his own.

Eventually, America will completely lose its influence in the world, and then Putin and Xi can get into the details of what's to happen next.

But make no mistake, we are in a conspiracy to split the world into 3 major spheres of influence, and then the smart guys will dump the moron who thought he was in charge the whole time.
