But also there’s a trick to how police holsters work that makes it difficult to remove the gun. An untrained amateur going for the gun is likely to mess up and wind up pulling the gun unsuccessfully without actually removing it from the holster, alerting the cop.
And cops are trained techniques to fight someone going for their gun too and as I said, since it is considered a lethal threat, they're not going to hold back. The moment they feel someone tugging at their gun they're not going to wait and see if it was just a joke or if someone is really trying to kill them with their own gun.
