  1. I get the sentiment here - that Westerners might have some blind spots about ideas of sovereignty, etc., but...
  2. Having lived in the "Global South" for so long and lived here in the West for a couple of years too, I've met leftists from both hemispheres (?). I can assure you that we are just as heterogeneous, compromised, sectarian, as you guys in the West lol. This is giving "noble savage" myth.

It's less the leftists you meet and more the leftists that are allowed to have power and influence.
