The fact that a paper even worse than The Economist for being, as Lenin put it, "a journal which speaks for the millionaires", commissioned art of an extremely conventionally attractive by human beauty standards female bear, for the purpose of supposedly denigrating the Soviet Union, is just beyond insane to me. Like. The Cold War was just. So. Fucking. Absurd. The infamous American "condom plot" seems out of left field taken out of context, but if you compare it to some of the absurd shit that was actually done during the Cold War... yeah, no. Relabeled condoms as psychological warfare isn't half as weird as this goddamn bear and who exactly paid someone to draw her. (Not gonna say anything about the artist themselves, they weren't the one with the idea, they were probably just paid on commission or paid a day rate. Us commies of all people should understand "I just work here, I don't make rules or plans or ideas. They don't pay me to think.")

Although, yeah. Oof that's one heck of a MILF. Mama bear, huh? Would absolutely cuddle that. Bet she gives a good "mom hug". (Although, generally, I'm not into more fully animal anthros beyond just innocent cuddles, though the fur is definitely a cuddles turn on. I mostly want to hug her in the way I wish I could hug an actual bear - just standard innocent "I'm gonna die hugging that cute fur baby" stuff.)

Yeah, that's true. There's definitely at least some furry groups who proudly state they're communists, and lots of more obvious signs. The Soviet Bear thing is just a lot funnier than most of those. One of my favourite things people do with "bears are sexy" and the commie bear thing, is when people draw a grizzly bear and a panda bear snuggling, kissing, or ...more intimate, as it were, and bemoan the Sino-Soviet Split.

(Sometimes I wish I was a stereotypical Soviet Bear. Not the sexy one these guys draw, just big and hug shaped and fuzzy with a set of bear ears. But I'm not a furry, I swear. More like a more mainstream "catgirl"/"puppygirl" type thing, just... a grizzly bear. Most of the time I literally just want the ears and otherwise to look completely normal human. Although I did read those Capsule Plushies stories and immediately I wanted a panda bear one, so. (A grizzly bear might be better, fits into a North American landscape more and being weirdly fond of honey, berries, and salmon would be easier to manage than a tendency to chew on my own or my mom's bamboo cooking utensils and kitchenware, but I just think pandas are cuter and more hug shaped.) But that probably has more to do with my wacky gender identity than genuinely wanting the bear paws or to look more hug shaped than I do right now.)

Are you familiar with the Soviet Bear art out there? Not all of it is pornographic, mostly just suggestive and kinda "hug shaped" (well, it's a bear, of course it's hug shaped, those things are made of cute).
