I watched Sirat! One of these political metaphor movies that are flying around in 2025; Only this was Spanish, it wasn't trying to be cute or funny Very brutal stuff; I liked it!
I also watched the Renegade Cut Of Adrezej Zulawsky's "The Silver globe;" I was a fan of Zulawski when i was a Kid and i didn't know this banned film got edited; Very weird austere low budget sci fi. It's one of those films that reminds me of old worn down sci fi paperbacks from flea markets! I thought i was going to hate the narrations in the scenes that didn't get filmed but somehow they made the film look more surreal.
Also just today i remembered there was a 4k Remaster of Peter Greenaway's "Prospero's books" on you tube so i played the intro before downloading the film and ended up watching it all. Beautiful, baroque and over done, but also a lot sharper now! For a film where every frame is a painting and there are little references in every corner the 4k remaster feels like the way it was always meant to be watched. Also surprise how many of the props and costumes look gorgeous in high resolution.
