I wonder if I'll make it through Don Quixote and Count of Monte Cristo in 2026. I'm starting light with brave new world, catcher in the rye, and then Kafka.

Brave New World fucked me up so bad when I read it. One of the few dystopian book that really got me.

Kafka my beloved. Can't recommend him enough

What should I start with? I just watched the trial and decided I needed to read some

The Metamorphosis is legit. Yeah, over-hyped, but don't let that detract from it being really good.

The Trial is my favorite of his tbh but The Metamorphosis is fantastic as well even if it is somewhat overhyped. These are the only two I have read so far but I am sure his other books are great.

Count of Monte Cristo is great but it was a bit of a slog at times if I'm honest. Granted last time I read it it was for school and I had to plow through all 650 pages or so in less than a week because I put it off til the last second

Dude was paid by the word and it shows. On the bright side, the book is excellent- it's just a bit padded. I feel like it's one of the few books where I feel like an abridged version might be an improvement.

I really liked the Jim Caviezel movie adaptation
