that's always a concern. like there's a certain kind of white person who likes saying gusano too much, but the Fuentes types don't have a class analysis.
You do realize that most gusanos are white, right? Like, I know they speak Spanish but they're descended from white Europeans who spoke Spanish, they were displaced by movements that were anti-owning class because they were in or adjacent to the owning class (which was white, btw), And they moved to the center of empire for protection because.... they're white.
Do you undersrand the racial history of this country and how dangerous this ‘class based’ race discrimination rhetoric is?
it is also dangerous to ignore class in your analysis
how the fuck did you come to that conclusion
isn't this supposed to be a marxist website
e: fuck it i'm going to take this in good-ish faith and explain how this shit works to you
i am the daughter of a Nigerian immigrant to the uk. if i was rich enough to emigrate to the usa i would have a fundamentally different relation to the country than an African-american descendant of people who were abducted and enslaved to build the fucking thing. i would not have the same generational disadvantages that they do.
what the actual fuck is wrong with you dude
Tired of racist bullshit against Indians.. From the right for obvious reasons and people like you who pretend to understand the caste system and class characteristics of Indians to justify their primal dislike for them.
show me the "primal dislike for Indians" you fucking liberal
If someone misgenders you, you need to report it, the mods can't be everywhere at once. This is the only place I've seen on the internet where people who are transphobic actually get banned instead of just given a "warning."
i did but he's a 3 year account who has somehow been tolerated so i won't hold my breath
you kinda were tbh
I’ve seen this term used countless times on this website, by mods and users alike, against any person regardless of gender. I won’t do it again if it’s been agreed that this is a transphobic term. But, quite frankly, this just seems like a red herring to mask racist undertones.
idk bud, if you called me a debratebro i would be kinda pissed and i'm like masc-adjacent
i imagine it would be even worse for a woman
Ok, I apologize then, it wasn’t my intention to be transphobic. I’ve seen the word used here and I didn’t think it would be offensive. Won’t do it again.
Ok, sorry, I don’t keep tabs on people’s comment history. Also, I apologize if you felt misgendered, I didn’t even see your pronouns and I’ve never recognized this term as gender specific.
I have literally gotten into fights over the past several weeks over racism. I am on a hair trigger. I still find this sort of discussion of racism based on flimsy class characteristizations distasteful.
I apologize for being a dick and being aggressive. I’m sorry.
this is completely fucking inadequate
the fuck you mean "flimsy class characterizations"? you came at me because i correctly pointed out that ignoring class is dangerous then completely minimized and dismissed the actual fucking oppression i face as "a brit" in your words ignoring that i'm fucking Black in a white supremacist country
"apology" not accepted, go fuck yourself
I think we should stop this. This argument and most of the missteps in discussion came from my end. Looking back, you didn’t really say much and I exploded at you.
As a result of the past few community discussions we have ceased using that as a recognized term. Please consult the code of conduct, for more information.

Come on. I understand the point you made further down the thread about the risk of people smuggling in racism through fake class analysis, but there is obviously a huge risk associated with ignoring class analysis. Statistically, the person reading this is living in the result of politics without class analysis - global neoliberalism. That's a system that also disproportionately harms marginalized people.
I understand where this came from based on your later comments, but there's nothing the user you're replying to actually said that supports this conclusion.
Aren't you the one who was complaining loudly about China recently? You got some brainworms to work through
No, not really, I only talk about China from a critical lens in online leftist spaces but I’m always publicly in support of it.
Not sure what this has to do with my discussion about racism against Indians.
It shows a lack of understanding or critical thinking about topics which aren't easily simplified but necessary to understand fully for our movement. The analysis of racism as a form of class struggle that interacts with the class struggle of bourgeous and proletarian, or between imperialized and imperialist. Though I see below that you apologized for being on a hair-triggee about racism so I take this partially back. Bourgeois Indians in the west (just like in Africa actually) are class enemies that might also suffer from systemic forces used on their fellow Indians but the aim of that systemic force is to push down the poor indians. This is critical to understand instead of the too simple intersectionality which misses the material aspects.
