For those quick off the mark, you may already have seen her name appear in the list of lemmy admins! We've brought Jorunn on board, as she's already staff on our piefed instance, and she has been helping moderate lemmy via our admin bot, which can approve signups, delete spam etc. So, she now has her own keys to the castle to make her life easier!

You can reach out to her for issues around community/instance moderation, regarding our lbz users etc. Kaity and I are still the best contacts for sys-admin related issues however.

Anyway, welcome aboard Jorunn and thank you for taking this on. I certainly appreciate it :)

Hello everyone!

I'll be doing my best to increase our response time to bigotry and spam! I'm not sure what else to write here that hasn't been said, but uh I have two cute cats named Åsa and Akaya, a mother and daughter. They like stealing my chair

I first started looking for alternative communities after reddit killed api stuff, and some bad experiences on discord with moderators who were convinced they were allies yet allowed transphobia and harassment they considered harmless. I was also looking for a place to try and break out of my shell and talk to people like myself and lemmy and matrix has been great for me in that regard <3 I've made lots of friends here and I hope to help keep this place safe and comfortable for everyone
