Why does it have two barrels?
If I had to make up something, since by canon it shoots high explosive rockets, the exhaust has to go somewhere, and this solution might even reduce recoil.
In reality, I think the designers just saw the picture of an AK with the gas cylinder and didn't know what it was for.
Which makes sense since they are Brits.

Those are decoys.
Space Marines just know where the gun is pointing, with superhuman accuracy. If they spot someone using the sights they know it's an imposter and kill them.
