I'm not sure how talking shit about cats is wholesome. Ever notice how cat people almost never disparage dogs, but dog people are constantly picking fights with cat people?
This is just how cats are imo. Meme seems made by a cat and dog person
I guess I just haven't had this experience with cats. Mine is always excited to be fed the same dry food every day. For some reason she prefers dry over wet, and the rejection of the wet food only happened once before I made the switch. Why feed your cat food they don't like?
Same here with my cat! I think it's more about the stereotypical personalities of the animals. Maybe more accurate would be the cat howling like it's starving after having been fed :p
Or being excited about jumping into a cardboard box while casually ignoring the expensive cat bed. 😅
No, this is not how cat are. The internet has a different headcanon because people usually misinterpret them and create memes and videos based on that. They'll either expect dog behavior or misattribute human intention. Cats have a completely different body language.
I encourage everyone watch real cat behavior videos and observe cats closely and without judgement.
I have a cat. Granted she loves food, but cats knock things over ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Dude I have 2 cats that I love and spoil but they are totally like this. I bought a huge pack of super premium cat food (that they were already used to eat) and my cat just refuses to touch it. She lost so much weight I had to go buy the special expensive food just for her. Event took her to the vet ($$$) no issues just picky
What kind of bowl do you use? And do you have their water near the food bowl? Cats usually dislike bowls that are small enough that they hit their whiskers on the sides when they bend down and sometimes they don't like to eat where they drink (something in their evolutionary background tells them that it's unsanitary or something).
Of course, cats can also just be picky eaters and get tired of the food. That's also pretty common.
We got ours rx food (Hooray shitty kidneys) and he actually prefers that kibble to his snacks.
Do you have an example of a Lemmy post that disparages dogs while also promoting cats? I see the opposite almost daily.
Just look at Lady Buttertly's post history for the past day. There's at least two.
This is such a weird conversation. Like, they're pets? To each their own? Who gives a shit what memes are being posted about cats or dogs? Lol no one needs to be The Cat Defender or anything, it's all in good fun. "You MEMED BAD ABOUT CATS??? INTERNET ARGUMENT TIME!!!" Lol
