Do NOT throw bricks at cops. Cops will literally put piles of bricks near protests to tempt stupid people to give them a reason to shoot them in the face.

[–] hamid@crazypeople.online 24 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Calm down Karen, it is a meme

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (5 children)

We have to be smart. Throwing bricks is stupid.

[–] arrow74@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Man this is lemmy whiplash. One thread judging Americans for not starting a rebellion and the next saying we shouldn't throw bricks at cops.

What do you people think rebellion is?

[–] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I feel like in America you should be able to do better than a brick. Cars and guns everywhere.

Throw a car full of guns.

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Rebellion involves guns. Until we're ready for that, inflatable chicken suits are the meta.

The current battlefield is in the minds of the non-radicalized. Bricks only hurt us in that battle. Watching inflatable chickens being shot with rubber bullets helps us win.

[–] arrow74@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Not very familiar with the lead up to the American Revolution are we?

Lots of things being thrown

Now you're a tough guy(tm) when you point out hypocrisy

[–] TherapyGary@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You've been propagandad. Throwing bricks is good

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (3 children)
[–] TherapyGary@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's funny you think I haven't already done so

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewall_riots

It resulted in the liberation and elevation of an entire segment of society from the darkness of repression.

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world -3 points 1 month ago

From what I can tell, you used bricks to get into your own gay bar, which the police had barricaded. Good work!

[–] RiverRock@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago

Feels extremely good, highly reccomend

[–] sentient_loom@sh.itjust.works -2 points 1 month ago (3 children)

They weren't there. These are feds and troll farms inciting idiotic behavior online.

[–] hamid@crazypeople.online 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Why don't you report some more of your delusions officer

[–] sentient_loom@sh.itjust.works -4 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Why don't you incite some more violence? Fed goon.

[–] davel@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

What violence has actually sprung from leftist internet memes? You give them way too much credit.

You know that claims of a rising tide of “far-left violence” are fake news, yeah? This bullshit narrative is pumped out by the far-right and by corporate media (otherwise known as the bourgeois press) and by NGOs who get their funding from the bourgeoisie.

Also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad-jacketing

Bad-jacketing is a term for planting doubt on the authenticity of an individual's bona fides or identity. An example would be creating suspicion through spreading false rumors, manufacturing evidence, etc., that falsely portray someone in a community organization as an informant, or member of law enforcement, or guilty of malfeasance such as skimming organization funds.

Fed-jacketing, and Snitch-jacketing are variants of bad-jacketing that specifically aim to present the target as an informer.

Why don't you cry more about memes. You fucking people and your pearl clutching about stupid jokes is incredible. Sign out before you give yourself hypertension, child.

[–] davel@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago

Bullshit. Show me one admin who claims Lemmy has a “troll farm” problem. Only non-admins make such claims, usually ones suffering Russiagate derangement syndrome.

The closest thing to a troll farm I’ve seen so far is these several user accounts that only post news articles disparaging the US’s enemies.

"Anarchists aren't real"
~This person apparently

[–] hamid@crazypeople.online 7 points 1 month ago

Probably better then clutching pearls at stupid memes

[–] AntiOutsideAktion@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Throwing bricks is how the gay rights movement got literally anything

[–] CleoCommunist@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago

Yeah you can't be peaceful if tye other side isn't and Will continue to oppress you

[–] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

We aren't though. Nobody thinks ahead. It's all protest reactions and meetings.

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Uh... Not sure that's the solution. Just not larping or following the herd would be great.

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The solution is not to organize?

[–] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Leaders≠organization

Often counter to it. Terrible structure. Does not fix this problem.

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Ok, how would you organize us then? Because we're not there yet

[–] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Without leaders? Without central points of failure? Without cults of personality?

That's like saying how would you make pizza without Elmer's glue, because clearly we don't have pizza here yet.

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You're describing what it's not. I'm asking what it is. What is the plan?

[–] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If I had a plan, I would take great joy in not telling you, officer.

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yeah, this is why the left is getting steamrolled by fascists.

[–] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Absolutely officer, I'll do everything you suggest.

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I suggested finding leaders. Now get to it.

[–] RiverRock@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 month ago

Rocket-propelled brick launchers, got it

[–] davel@lemmy.ml 11 points 1 month ago (3 children)
[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Interesting, thank you!

[–] 0_o7@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Most of the claims against that are tweets by police. And the police have never been caught lying, right?

"Mostly false" should be turned into "insufficient evidence" because there doesn't seem to be convincing evidence on both arguments.

[–] davel@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Which is more likely?

(a) The police ordered seven tons of bricks to be delivered to a location where a protest might occur sometime in the near future, in the hopes that they would be thrown at them by protestors, so that they could arrest them.

(b) Construction site brick piles are a common occurrence in urban areas.

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 month ago

You don't need the police to provide them; just ask Marsha P Johnson. Lol
