It still shows up in the community and on the user’s profile, it just says ‘not found’ when clicked on.

Edit: just discovered that for some reason I can access the post on Piefed through the Voyager app, but still can’t through the browser interface.

I've found it just fine on lemmy, and it's not removed or deleted on the home instance. I'm getting an error when I try and manually pull the post to piefed though.

At a guess, I'm going to say it's a bug with the fact the title of that post is entirely emoji... But I'm chasing it up with the piefed devs and other piefed admins, so we'll see what turns up

Ok, so it has federated, it's just that the internal UI links to the post don't work, because it's all emoji.

You can access it manually here https://piefed.blahaj.zone/post/438077 (basically https://piefed.blahaj.zone/post/POST_ID_GOES_HERE if it happens again)

The fix hasn't reached piefed stable branch yet, so we'll have to either upgrade to the main branch, or wait for it to hit stable
