Evidently I have finished “Talamasca” on AMC. Tuned in last night wondering where my new episode was. Looked it up — that was it. Six episodes. Not eight. Not 13. Not 26.

Six episodes.

This wasn’t a mini series. Will I have to wait two years for six more episodes? How pathetic.

Slow Horses also does 6-episode seasons, however there the length feels right. They also release a new season every year so it feels like a good pace. If they did more episodes then I think it'd drag

I think Slow Horses goes for 6 episodes because that's more in line with traditional British series length?

Broadchurch clocks in at 8 episodes per series/season, Derry Girls was around 6 episodes per season too, IIRC.

Slow Horses shoot 2 seasons back to back. Most British shows are 6 episodes as that fits best into the annual scheduling. British audiences expect variety rather than quantity.
