Christian Dior's sister Catherine was the real legend who worked for Allied intelligence and the French Resistance

I was unaware of this (and Coco Chanel's Nazi sympathizing) until watching The New Look on AppleTV. It wasn't that well received, but I appreciated seeing a story take place during WWII that treated the occupation of France not as the main plot, but as a setting.

If you want another look I recommend the behind the bastards episode on Coco.

Look up the novels of Alan Furst.

He's american, but his WW2 novels revolve around Europeans.

"Night Soldiers" is about a Bulgarian fisherman whose brother was killed by a Fascist mob. He gets recruited by the KGB and gets sent to fight in the Spanish Civil War.

Try "Allo allo" then - arguably the occupation is closer to the main plot, but not nearly as close as the "Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies" :)

Wasn't he drowning them with his shampoo?

His technique of torturing Nazis and making shampoo out of their remains would be the basis for the whole soap thing in Fight Club.
