I know the og series was infamously horny, but the new games are actually very tame as far as sexuality goes! I can't even think of any characters that showed cleavage. Tonally, they are very different from the ps2/ps3 games set in Greece.

The entire plot of GoW 2018 is that Kratos's wife has just passed, and so him and his son take off to fulfill her last wish to have her ashes spread "across the tallest mountain in all the realms" and it's all very somber. (Aside from all the gods and minions that you have to go John Wick on along the way.)

And since it's been a few years since I played, I wanted to look into it to be sure I remembered right, and I found this interesting article (aside from some mild ableism) God of War’ reinvented: From sex games with Aphrodite to deconstructing masculinity
