God used flawed men like Noah and King David. Just because Trump has made mistakes doesn't mean we should turn our backs on him.

No /s, because that's literally what you'll hear in the coming weeks.

God used flawed men like Noah and King David

Noah got both his daughters pregnant. (Oops that was Lot, after god destroyed Sodom & Gamora for being cruel to poor people, and for some reason also killed Lot's wife)

The Bible calls King David a man after gods heart. Same King David that sent his bro (top general) on a suicide mission so he could steal his wife.

Just some context for peeps.

And these don't even tank top ten in the "worst shit committed by 'men of god' in the Bible". Hell it doesn't even make top 10 in the Old Testament.

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

And let's not get into nasty things done by messiahs against roadside fig trees

[–] TheRealKuni@piefed.social 13 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Noah got both his daughters pregnant.

Nah, that was Lot.

[–] zwerg@feddit.org 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

And then god turned him into a pillar of salt... Oh, wait... that was his wife.

[–] TheRealKuni@piefed.social 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

And happened before the pregnancies, IIRC.

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 days ago

Yea you're right.

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 days ago

O shit youre right

[–] Grass@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 days ago (2 children)

didn't lot's daughters get themselves pregnant using him, as revenge for offering them to a bunch of men

[–] squaresinger@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

Nah, the story was that Lot and his daughters were hiding in the mountains, and the daughters decided that their chances of ever getting a man were close to 0, so they got their father blackout drunk and got themselves pregnant using him.

[–] TheRealKuni@piefed.social 2 points 4 days ago

I don’t think it was framed as revenge, but that did also happen.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 days ago

after god destroyed Sodom & Gamora for being cruel to poor people

For wanting to ass-rape angels disguised as travellers.

Hell, that demon Bannon has already said it.

Bannon continued: “We have to finish what we started... I know this will drive you guys crazy, but [Trump] is a vehicle of divine providence. He’s an instrument. He’s very imperfect. He’s not churchy. But he is an instrument of divine will.”

“We need him for at least one more term,” Bannon reiterated, “and he’ll get that in ‘28.”
