It is an aggravating factor and adds 2 years to your sentence if the enemy that beats you in a cutscene is an edgy asshole taunting you about the incompetence you didn't display because what you did didn't matter.
This includes Kai Leng (Mass Effect), Bloody Mary (The Wolf Among Us), and every character in Far Cry.

Every time I ran into that guy he did some mall ninja shit, got rocked in seconds and then cutscenes interrupted me so he could smug around a little longer

it does if jacob is the assasin, im not sure if miranda is the assasin though. it's not heavily focused on the romance aspect tho. i seem to remember there being another mod that addresses that whole situation, let me see if i can find it for you later.

No, sorry. It's important to me that the mod mimics vanilla game behaviour in this way. The Assassin is selected based on past events, not an option button. Also, let's address the elephant in the room. A LOT of people would just use it to write off Jacob, and honestly I think that'd be a shame. Give that path a chance, guys! It has way more custom content around his role on Horizon and with Oriana, and gives the character a heroic arc that I think works really well to ground his newfound commitment to his community.
