it's brinkmanship/blackmail, you threaten their good time by willing to weather "bad time" (debatable until trumpo how internal bad times really were, this side of structural forces) of their non-preferred outcome, it's like whatever for emperor of earth called president, but in local elections? when every single senator is a demon? when like 1-3 decent people are in house?

like if third party was able to consistently pull 2-3% everywhere, and then selectively retreat upon concessions in some races (stated beforehand which concessions they are seeking), it's how you wield influence being a tiny minority, instead of blue no matter who.

in primary, again, aside from words, actions of mr. mercenary are worse than his opponent, so why, again, bother with him?
