Putting all of this disgusting, western chauvinism aside, it is objectively funny that so much is being made of the political positions of a mayor (yes, I know context matters and he's the presumptive mayor of New York but still)

Imagine this much of a stink being made regarding the opinions of the mayor of Minot, North Dakota

As mayor of NYC, he would have over ten times the constituents of the entire state of North Dakota. Hell, he'd have a larger constituency than 38/50 governors.

I understand your point, but Minot is actually quite strategically important to the USA, as the nuclear capable B-52 Stratofortress bombers and Minuteman III ICBMs are based/controlled at Minot Air Force Base. So foreign policy would be very relevant in that case lol.

The mayor isn't imposing it on the military though
