I don't understand what Zohran is doing to be honest this isn't a hill he would die on, only the gusanos give a shit about Cuba and he doesn't have to worry about them in New York. He actually believes this. He originally said that he didn't know enough to say but Venezuela was still repressive. Then he was apparently talked around by some gusanos with a podcast, and now he says they're dictators but US intervention is bad and has made things worse ("I like my actions, but not their consequences"). He just actually believes this, it's not a political calculation.
