Fava is a type of bean, the words are related in fact and the entire family of bean and pea plants is named after it: Fabaceae

No! I will not surrender beans to the Eurasians with your pretender beans. They are legumes, yes... maybe even pulses but your old world vigna, glycine and vicia ... maybe lupinus. Beans, true beanis are PHASEOLUS, PHASEOLUS VULGARIS. COMMON BEAN.
