Cannabis indica and Cannabis sativa are two types, or strains, of the cannabis plant.

For others, like me, who had no idea.

Where indica simply refers to the plant’s first collection (by Lamarck) in India and sativa means cultivated in Latin. Loads of plants have some conjugation of this species name:

Allium sativum (garlic)

Coriandrum sativum (coriander / cilantro)

Crocus sativus (saffron crocus)

Cucumis sativus (cucumber)

Eruca sativa (rocket / arugula)

I believe it’s a UK name for arugula. They frequently express the same bafflement for cilantro.

2 species, you wouldnt call them strains if they are 2 different species.
