RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world
  5. Keep it clean and SFW
  6. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

Eventful, to say the least. Been a season of losing(or nearly losing) furry friends to have yet another come around in need of some care.

This was the first full summer the kittens from a feral mother had their eyes open, so they greatly enjoyed laying in windows watching the wildlife and napping in sunbeams.

Played hospice for an elderly opossum who got to pass with a full belly in warmth and safety.

Captured another feral who had been hanging around work. She disappeared and reappeared with full body tremors and weakness in her back legs. Still no clue what happened, but the tremors have been controlled with anti-inflammatory shots and she's regained balance and strength in her legs. Still not a friendly cat, but she's calmed down a lot. I've accepted that she'll likely never be affectionate, but I'm hopeful we'll continue getting at least comfortable with people.
