Why do you think the band Rise Against moved from a more Punk sound of the first four albums to a slower more ballad heavy alternative rock sound? (hexbear.net)

From what ive heard joe is the real skater and punk of the band. Tim is a great musician and singer and songwriter, but he's the one who loved ballads and slower songs. I feel like joe was probably largely responsible for the sound of the first four albums, the speed etc.
