I also felt like the "I'd travel back in time and kill Nazis" crowd suddenly became waaay smaller after a modern Nazi got shot.
One of the best responses to kirk's death said something like "This is like writing an obituary of Joseph Goebbels that goes 'Gobbels was a gifted marketer and father of six children'"

When I report problematic takes over there, they get server banned. That's why I put !smugideologyman@lemmy.dbzer0.com over there, it's the only "major" explicitly leftist server I trust by experience will ban tankies and nazis.
Here's a recent example of how the local userbase reacts to a tankie meme in their third most active community (compared to the same meme getting a positive score on lemmy.ml). Thanks for the gaslighting attempt about a server I actually use on the regular + instant downvotes on my comments though, pretty cool way to hold a conversation.
They do indeed have AI apologists, btw. I simply don't interact with their communities.
I've seen some pretty hefty Uighur genocide denial by knowm .ml tankies, so clearly it's not being enforced strongly enough.
Report them.
That instance has lengthy and very active ban logs for a reason.
