As an Italian I feel the need to apologize to the Ethiopian people for the violence they had to suffer during the course of that infamous war.

By recognizing the sins of the past, we recognize the depths of depravity we as human beings are capable of, and recognize the damage inflicted on others that we have been spared.

The sins of the past are not our sins - but it behooves us to regret them all the same.
