Ingesting data does not destroy data. And trees are a renewable resource

But AI does spit out nonsense

Trees are only renewable if you re-plant what you cut down. There's a lot of places in the world where that's not happening or the clear cutting is at a rate where the time to replace the cut with a grown tree takes too long and the mature forests are exhausted before the new forest can pick up the slack.
