Zohran Mamdani: A Rabbi Explained To Me Why "Globalize The Intifada" Makes Her Think Of Bombings
(www.realclearpolitics.com)
Welcome to c/electoralism! politics isn't just about voting or running for office, but this community is.
Please read the Chapo Code of Conduct and remember...we're all comrades here.
Shitposting in other comms please!
This article is from 2 months ago. What is different between today’s and what this says? Is there any new information? https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jul/16/zohran-mamdani-israel-gaza-intifada
This is a new interview and it shows giving way on this issue has only caused the media to double down like with Jeremy Corbyn.
I don't think suppressing posts of these statements like what you're suggesting I do is helpful.
The media was going to keep asking him this question no matter what his answer was. The campaign against him is explicitly Zionist and running on those terms alone. All it shows is that ZM's campaign has developed an internal messaging about this and he has been completely consistent with it for months. I don't think it is "suppressing" posts of his statements to not post the same thing over and over again every couple of weeks to get 70 comments riled up about something that provides no new information and has been thoroughly tread. It just seems more like shit stirring (see the rest of the comments on this post acting like he actually changed positions), which is definitely not helpful.
Heaven forbid we have healthy discussion on this subject - Zohran and his backpedalling (and it is perceived as backpedalling, thats what matters in political campaigns) on radical rhetoric that he has himself used in the past. There are a lot of people sharing their thoughts which is understandable, but only you are pressing this idea that I am "shit stirring".
"Backpedaling" on a fucking slogan literally does not matter at all, jesus christ, all I see is a bunch of nerds mad they're not being dogwhistled to while refusing to admit that dogwhistles don't matter
Y'all act like if we chant "globalize the intifada" enough times it's going to free Palestine
This is incorrect and it is the second time you have said it in this thread after being presented evidence that it is incorrect. It is consistent with what he said months ago and it is not "rhetoric that he has himself used in the past" as the article I pasted above clearly says.
So, yes, you are shit stirring by trying to create a need for all this conflict in this thread based on false premises that you then double down on and get all defensive about. How are we supposed to have a "healthy discussion" based on your false premise?
And you lied multiple times saying there is nothing to discuss here, despite many other threads suggesting otherwise. I think it's time you and I "disengage" as they say.
Also false. "Disengage" has to be stand-alone, not at the end of a rant full of your own false statement. So here, you can disengage as you smoke this
the rabbi bit is new
“I don’t believe it’s the mayors role to police speech” vs “a rabbi told me about restaurant bombings so now I discourage the language”
Both are caving to Zionists but once is passively accepting the framing and the other is pushing it
