Damn, my local shelter just charges a 100 dollar adoption fee
Man the ones in Melbourne Australia cost up to $3,000 to adopt, unless you get Pitbulls and mastiffs, then it's $600. I just adopted a little Maltese looking thing for 1.5k
Strays are, i think, a much bigger issue in the United States. So most shelters are just happy they dont have to euthanize.
