If your state allows open carry (guns), fucking do that thing. Show up with a slung AR and a Colt .45 in your belt, SUDDENLY, the police and ICE are peaceful, don't want any problems.

FFS, a kid with an AR took over a fucking school and the pigs couldn't figure out what to do, frozen in a clusterfuck of comms and authority issues. And before anyone judges those cops, see what really happened. They're so used to being the sole arbiters of violence, they froze when challenged. And BTW, that PBS documentary is required watching before you have an opinion on Uvalde. tl;dr: What played out isn't probably what you thought.

Oof, I'll watch that when I'm ready; it's a bit too early for something that heavy

But that aside, support your local PBS!! Or your other local news organization if not pbs. They're invaluable and we all have benefited from them (probably) at some point in our lives. The above is not directed at you personally just a plea to keep healthy and wholesome news and entertainment accessable for everyone

That documentary is indeed heavy, but I'm sick to death of everyone putting the event down to simple cowardice. The situation was far more complex. Glad I watched it once, never again.

I'll give it a shot but if it doesn't say anything other than "cowardice, lack of training, and unclear command structure" I'm gonna be miffed.
