From what I can tell, a lot of the complaints were people complaining it's woke, or comparing it to earlier entries which were amazing (especially Origins imo). Other than that, I haven't played it, but it still doesn't sound like too bad a game.
The complaints I've heard is that not only about comparing it to earlier entries but also complaining about the marvel-ification of the the whole IP, story, game play mechanics, etc. Like I think they were aiming to try and capture lighting in a bottle again by copy-pasting Mass Effect 2's general storyboard but applied to dragon age conditions. Dunno if that's really worked out for them, as far as I can tell they've basically kind of in a rock and a hard place where no matter what they do they're gonna be fucked over by the legacy of what they've made before.
