The average user doesn't know or care about anything. You could prove to them beyond all doubt that every reddit post or twitter tweet causes a puppy to get punched in the head, and they'd shrug and say "but this is where the funny memes are".

I thought I was on crazy pills for a while, because I'd give someone evidence of like, some burgeoning authoritarian conspiracy and they'd just do the thing you mentioned

I then swapped topics to their thermostat before realizing there's literal TV static upstairs in the squishware
