Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.

In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.

Some Rules

Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
Don't promote proprietary software
Try to keep things on topic
If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience

FWIW:

The servers hosting Thundermail will initially be located in Germany with more countries to follow in the future.

I'm sure they do. Do you self-host your email? I'm not smart or patient enough to do that, so I have to trust someone, unfortunately.

If you self-host it, you´re actually more open to lesser vector of attack, since I really doubt you will go into building robust security solutions with your personal IP. That includes local law enforcement or criminal elements just taking your server.

Even if you do self host who are you sending email to? It's most likely going to one of the big tech companies.

The US and EU are tight-knit allies in empire. The US Empire has hegemony, sure, but the EU is still a willing participant in imperialism. They are all millitary allies through NATO, they share data. If you live in the west, the west having data on you is what can harm you.
