The biggest mistake made in WWII was not killing enough Nazis.
The two biggest post-war mistakes in the past 150 years: not killing every nazi in the german army/government and not killing every southerner in the confederate army/government.
Friendly reminder that the confederate president Davis and head general Lee both died peacefully after causing a war that killed half a million people because they wanted to own people. We should have killed them all and anyone who complained about it too. Same with Germany. Donitz was the literal successor to Hitler and survived to the fucking 80s. Should have shot him the moment he approached "surrendering".
Literally. They were allowed to flee like rats to all corners of the globe and now they control it. Every single Nazi, no matter how young or low ranked, should have been thrown into a pit. If we ever get the chance to make that mistake again, let's hope we don't.
