DNC never sent DHS and ice to deport and create fake crimes against my Muslim friend for being an Iranian student in physics. But sure, both sides.

[–] scott@lemmy.org 22 points 10 months ago (1 children)

No, but they did tank any candidates who would've given us a hope of not having to deal with that scenario not just once but three times over so yeah definitely both fucking sides.

[–] HiddenLychee@lemmy.world -3 points 10 months ago

What party were the candidates from?

[–] HiddenLayer555@lemmy.ml 12 points 10 months ago

They sure aren't doing anything about it either.

It was Slick Willie Clinton who changed regulation to allow misdemeanors to be treated the same as a felony for immigration purposes. Thus was born the idea of the "criminal immigrant".

Nah, they just committed genocide

Don't forget sending people to torture camps, or bombing kids, or expanding the systems that the current fascist government is using.

The Democrats do so much more than just helping out with genocide!

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll be sure to vote Republican

What a stupid comment. It's REALISM. I am either going to vote Republican, Democrat, or not vote at all (same as voting third party).

Which one of these choices do you think makes the world a better place?

[–] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Still whataboutism. You bringing up Trump doesn't change the fact that Democrats commited genocide

[–] diffusive@lemmy.world -4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

You mean what you just did in response to the initial thread?

They did though, through the creation and expansion of the secure communities program.. It was attempted to be walked back via the PEP after Obama earned the "deporter in chief" moniker, but yes the DNC did, has and will continue to do so.

Their style is usually more "don't make a scene" then "suns out, guns out" but the end result is ultimately the same.
