3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

Back when Trump put up his tower, Jackie Kennedy Onassis was famously fighting to preserve New York landmarks like Grand Central Station. Trump's own architect told him to leave the façade of the building alone, but Trump overruled him. Trump blew the perfect opportunity to get in good with elites because he was too greedy and arrogant.

Bonus- there's a guest apperance by John Barron!!
His buildings are just so ugly too, fr. You gotta try hard to be that ugly.
I was living in New York when the Tower first went up. When I was in the area I decided to stroll in and see what the controversy was about. At street level it's just black glass. Inside it's all gold with a waterfall. I thought it looked like a big golden toilet.
Built like shit too
Looking at the photographs, I'm not all that impressed by the building it replaced that people are complaining about not having the elements from preserved. It's got some Art Deco elements, but we're not talking the Chrysler Building here.
EDIT: Here's a image of one of the two bas-relief sculptures, a much closer shot than the photograph in the article:
Are you saying that the trump tower is better than that building? Also, they destroyed the experience of the interiors, not just the exterior ornamentation.
Look at his ""jewel" in Manhattan, lol. I can't even say it's dated, because that had to be out of date when it was built. It's timelessly shitty.

The Chicago building is beautiful, if it didn’t have his fucking name in giant print it would be really cool looking.
It has contextualism with offsets the height of nearby buildings
I think we have different taste in buildings. It's boring at best and kind of looks like it's giving you the middle finger from certain angles. https://www.architecture.org/online-resources/buildings-of-chicago/trump-tower
Chicago has some gorgeous architecture and they won't let you do anything to their skyline to fuck it up. They are serious about it, so the context would have been forced on him. He doesn't get credit for that. Also, his architecture firm probably wouldn't let him fuck that up either. Again, Chicago and SOM, they're a proud, distinguished firm.
I honestly didn't think my opinion of him could get any lower but here he goes and surprises me. Incredible.
Everything about trump only ever gets worse. There is no bottom, just worse.
