Why is a margarita both a pizza and an alcoholic drink?

During the decision to name them the question was asked will the pizza or drink be a margarita. There was a wise response that said...

Margarita means pearl. I guess both the pizza and the drink were considered a pearl to the namers. Both are more precious to me than a pearl is though.
