If they wanted short titles why do so many movies unnecessarily begin with 'the'
I tried and failed to come up with a joke so I googled. I found this result at Reddit - I don’t understand the rules behind the usage of “the” in movie titles. It's Reddit and it's about movies so they take this question very seriously.

I do appreciate the effort you went to to find this. But I will say the marketing ploy is lazy. You can explain away anything behind the vague excuse of focus groups or marketing and then force an idea upon it.
