Hollywood needs to pump out more REAL cop shows, where they show how cowardly, fat and racists cops are.
But when Hollywood did, nobody wanted to actually talk about Rampart.

I don't know, it seemed like at least one person wanted to talk about Rampart (exclusively).
That's actually what Hollywood did until the red scare. Hence the "keystone cops" of early cinema.
The only things that can get made here anymore are commercials and corporate slop. Need funding for film and TV so some real shit gets made not just the usual garbage
The purpose of Hollywood is entertainment and helping out manufacture consent (not necessarily in that order), not raising awareness on subjects were people's increased awareness would threaten the power of the elites, so when it comes to the minions of the elites it's pretty much all either "Heroes of Justice" (with a side of "anything is acceptable in the pursuit of Justice" or, at most, "Most are Good Guys but there's a few bad apples".
