Sounds like they should stop sending the federal government their revenue. California sends more than they receive. Spend it on the same programs directly instead, no change for those programs or Californians.

Trump isn't used to not having any leverage, so he just does the same shit all the time and it constantly backfires now because enough people recognize that.

If Trump cuts off Federal funding, he may not have a choice. That money has to come from somewhere.

Federal government taxes individuals and businesses. States legally can't stop the fed from taking taxes.

Sixteenth Amendment.

And Congress directs monetary spending, Article 1, Section 9, no Amendment necessary.

That's not stopping the President from trying to do whatever he wants with the money while Congress avoids doing their job.

Let the federal government sue and take it to the Supreme Court.

But if you can deduct your state taxes from your federal, then CA can set their state tax schedule to cancel out federal taxes.
